SUMMARY: The kingdom of God is something that we are experiencing now in part as believers in Jesus Christ. There are many things that we should realize as a result of this fact. One of the things is that we can overcome sin in this life because our Lord Jesus Christ reigns on the throne right now!

•The kingdom of God is wherever Jesus is meaning that we have access to the blessings that come with that now (Luke 17:20-21)

•Believers are called to be holy (Leviticus 20:26, Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:14-16, 1 Peter 2:9)

•Holiness is the opposite of sin

•Being a saint is the opposite of being a sinner

•Sin can be overcome in this life

•Jesus expects it from us  (Revelation 2-3; John 8:10-11)

•God will help us (Ezekiel 36:26-27, John 15:4-7, Philippians 1:6)

•Paul expected Christians to live holy (Ephesians 4:17 – 5:11)

•Why do we not overcome sin?

•False doctrines such as “Once Saved, Always Saved” being preached (SECURITY COMES W/ RESPONSIBILITY)

•We try to overcome sin by our own effort forgetting it has to be done through Christ alone (John 15:5, Philippians 3:3, Philippians 4:13)

•Love of things other than God and wish to serve them (Matthew 6:24, John 8:34, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, James 1:12-15)

•Jesus can identify with what we are going through (Hebrews 2:18, 4:14-16)

•We can not use the excuse that God can't understand because God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, has lived a human life and experienced the challenges that we currently do.

•God's grace involves both salvation and the means to conquer sin in our lives (Titus 2:11-14)

•God's grace is meant to clean up our lives, not leave us in sin
